I published a small book of Lebanese recipes easy on the Kindle platform. For the price of a coffee and muffin, anyone can download my book on Amazon Kindle device or with the free Kindle application available on PC, Mac, iPad, etc.
Why I chose the Kindle format?
In 2007 Amazon released the Kindle for people to read e-books. November 2007, they launched the product by saying that 300,000 Kindle devices should be enough to start.

However it came about ...
The success was immediate and unexpected! In five hours only kindles 300,000 had been sold. Which of course took a bit by surprise the firm, which has been able to deliver more than 5 months after. It now sells worldwide approximately one million Kindle weekly.
Amazon sells more e-books 5 billion per year. The firm sells twice as many e-books than physical books. You see the potential for you now?
How I made to carry a book on Kindle?
I'll explain in more detail what I did in a future article, however, know that it was not very complicated. Very very short:
• I wrote the book with MS Word using the least possible, the specific formatting software and no images or graphics in the text. Then I saved the text filtered Web format. This is an easy to download to Kindle.
• Be aware that you should not put pictures inside the book for the basic version of Kindle and must separately provide the cover.
• Of course, I did make my cover by a person working to their account on elance.com. Size coverage Kindle, the 3D image and a small animation cost about $ 50 on Elance. I bought separately images composing the cover page Istock Photos. The graphics in took 2 days to make.
• Then you open an account on Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), and download the book on Amazon. Amazon pays you up to 70% royalties on books sold.
Why did I do a cookbook?
I had this little book in mind and I thought this might be a good way to connect with pleasure especially for the holidays. I wrote this book at a time to share with you the recipes I learned from my mother and to achieve this real Kindle book sold on Amazon and then finally be able to tell you how I did. It is a good idea right?
What is the current result?
I must say that after a week, I'm pretty happy with the results. I checked yesterday on Amazon.com and I sorted myself first in sales of books in French international cuisine. I am of course very far behind in the standings Amazon ... Because as you know, I did not intend to make a "Best Seller" with this book;-)
My intention was both to share with you the easy recipes Lebanese food (for a very reasonable price) and show you by that it is possible and simple enough for you also to write a small book and publish it on Kindle.
